Industry experts share insights on how to enjoy a premium Holi experience while making cost-effective choices.
Why all-inclusive packages make sense
Travelers are opting for all-inclusive packages to manage costs efficiently.
Rajat Gera, Commercial Director at Six Senses Fort Barwara, highlights how bundled offerings provide better value.
“Our curated Holi packages include meals, spa treatments, cultural activities, and wellness programs. Guests prefer these comprehensive experiences over separate bookings, as they offer a seamless and cost-effective celebration,” says Gera.
Suhasish Chakraborty, owner of Radisson Blu Plaza Karjat, agrees.
“Opting for full-board packages ensures that travelers don’t have to worry about unexpected expenses. Instead of paying separately for meals and activities, they get a bundled experience at a fixed price,” he explains.
How to cut costs without compromising on experience
Festive travel can get expensive, but strategic planning helps keep budgets in check.
Saba Dhanani, Director of Marketing, Communications & Operations at Sayaji Group, shares practical tips.
“Booking early is a great way to lock in lower rates. We’ve seen a 30% rise in group bookings, as families and corporate groups split costs to make luxury stays more affordable,” she notes.
Another cost-saving trend is weekday bookings.
“We’re seeing more travelers shift their stays from peak weekends to weekdays to get better deals on accommodations and activities,” Dhanani adds.
Leveraging loyalty programs and special offers
Ronan Fearon, General Manager at JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa, emphasises the importance of using loyalty programs.
“Our Marriott Bonvoy members enjoy exclusive discounts and added benefits like free spa treatments and dining credits. This year, we’ve introduced an anniversary offer that includes ₹3,000 F&B credit per night, 3x Marriott Bonvoy Points, and extended spa services,” Fearon shares.
By taking advantage of such promotions, travelers can enjoy luxury experiences without overspending.
Flexible vs all-inclusive: Which is better?
While all-inclusive packages provide predictability, some travelers prefer flexibility.
“At JW Marriott Bengaluru, many guests book stays with breakfast included, allowing them to choose additional meals and activities based on their budget,” Fearon explains.
Sachin Maheshwary, General Manager at Novotel Goa Candolim & Novotel Goa Resort & Spa, offers a similar perspective.
“We cater to a diverse clientele, from families looking for full-board stays to young professionals opting for à la carte dining. Travelers can mix and match options to fit their financial comfort,” he says.
Keeping up with trends
With evolving travel trends, some resorts are curating unique Holi experiences.
Noormahal Palace in Karnal, for example, is offering a luxury escape with its ‘Rang Barse’ package from March 13-16, 2025.
The changing landscape of travel
A new trend in Holi travel is the participation of tier-II city residents in luxury getaways.
“The demand for premium resorts is no longer limited to metro travelers. More guests from smaller cities are seeking high-end festive experiences, showing a shift in aspirational spending habits,” Dhanani observes.
Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, adds that domestic travel remains a top priority for Indian travelers.
“Travelers prioritise domestic getaways. We are seeing a strong surge in demand for the upcoming Holi weekend, particularly from those seeking short vacations to unwind from the urban hustle,” Sharma says.
