Bollywood star Katrina Kaif’s recent visit to the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj has become a topic of discussion after a viral video captured a group of men making inappropriate remarks while she performed a holy ritual. The actress, accompanied by Raveena Tandon, took a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam in a VIP section. However, her presence quickly attracted a large number of pilgrims, some of whom attempted to take selfies and videos. Now, Raveena Tandon has shared her disappointment over men behaving oddly around Katrina in a new video.
A recently surfaced clip shows two men filming themselves before turning the camera towards Katrina, who was immersed in prayer. One of them is heard saying, “Ye main hu, ye mera bhai hai, aur ye Katrina Kaif” (“This is me, this is my brother, and this is Katrina Kaif”). A group of men started laughing after this. The video has drawn widespread criticism online. Many have called it harassment, while others have deemed it a breach of privacy and respect.
Raveena Tandon, who was also present at the Mahakumbh, reacted strongly to the incident. “This is disgusting. These kinds of people spoil a moment that is supposed to be peaceful and meaningful,” she wrote in the comments section.
One social media user wrote, “Very bad… mass bullying,” while another commented, “This is terrible. How are people so shameless?” Another person wrote, “This is sad and disturbing.” Someone else added, “And when they get VIP treatment and security and all, they get offended.”
Last week, drone footage emerged online showing a massive crowd surrounding Katrina as she took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam with her mother-in-law.
The Mahakumbh Mela, which began on 13 January and concluded on 26 February, was attended by several celebrities, including Vicky Kaushal, Sonali Bendre, Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Guru Randhawa, Tamannaah Bhatia, and more.
